VE Day

Today, Thursday 8 May marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day, a national moment for reflection on the end of World War II in Europe and the impact it had on individuals, families and communities.

As the country marks this day, the South Hams PCN wants to highlight the support available to veterans and the wider armed forces community across the region.

We are committed to ensuring that healthcare services are accessible and responsive to the needs of current and former members of the armed forces, as well as their families. This includes signposting to specialist services, raising awareness among staff, and providing clear pathways for support.

Through the Armed Forces Network and Armed Forces Hub South West veterans and their families can access a range of resources, including – a dedicated point of contact offering advice, guidance and links to relevant services.

If you are a armed forces veteran please make sure your GP Surgery is aware so we can ensure you are receiving all the support you need.
